Prerequisites
In order for this process to work you will have to have some sort of recovery option associated with your account. You would have been asked to provide at least one recovery option during your initial account setup and could be any of the following:
- A phone number that can be called or messaged
- A personal email account
- A set of security questions
As long as you have access to the registered phone/email account or know the answers to your security questions the process should be rather painless. If for some reason none of these options are presented or access has been lost to the set up option(s) you can submit a password reset request and our IT team will be in contact with you.
Procedure
To access the password reset page please visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ and enter your username in the form first name.last name@pcstudents.ca (the format of your username may be slightly different than this format due to length). If you have forgotten your username you can refer to your welcome email or send a support request to regain access.
Entering the shown characters and clicking "Next" will first ask you why you're trying to reset your password and then present you with options based on your registered recovery devices/accounts/questions. Successfully entering the required information and clicking the action button will allow you to enter the challenge code.
Setting a New Password
The requirements for your new password need to be met before it is accepted. Along with the password NOT containing your name and NOT being the same as previously used passwords, here are the character requirements:
- At least 8 characters long
- Contains at least one CAPITAL LETTER
- Contains at least one spec!al character or numb3r
After this process is complete you should be able to access your account and with it all services provided by Parkland College.
